Main Water Lines Pipe Repairs & Re-Piping

The main water line leading up to your home is subjected to significant physical pressure. The typical water pressure is between 40 and 60 PSI, with 50 being the median. As a property owner, the last thing you want is a main line water leak. High-pressure water leaks can erode soil, causing landscaping issues and sinkholes, and even permanently damage the foundation or slab. Moreover, such leaks can result in substantial water waste and an increased utility bill.

A main line water break can occur for various reasons, but the most common are age and temperature. During periods with little snow, the contraction of the ground due to freezing puts extra pressure on the main water line. If the water inside the pipe freezes, it creates additional outward pressure. Over time, the piping materials can degrade and become brittle, leading to cracks and leaks. Mainline water breaks can also be caused by installation issues, natural erosion, and ground settling.

If you are noticing low water pressure, water pooling in your yard, higher than normal water bills, or dirty water, it’s time to get in touch with R&R Plumbing right away for a complete inspection of your water line supply. If repairs are necessary, we will provide you with an on-site estimate, with a breakdown of the costs, and explain the job in detail, including what materials will be used.

Interior Water Supply Line Repairs & Replacements

Nothing is permanent, that includes the pipes inside your home. As time goes on, pipes gradually erode, rust, and decay. Eventually, you are going to get leaks or worse, a flood. This could potentially bring water and even raw sewage into your home or business causing thousands of dollars in damage.

From your dishwasher or icemaker water line to your toilets and sinks, the experts at R&R Plumbing will make sure that your water supply lines and drain lines stay in top shape. Our experts can diagnose the problems and repair them right away.

Water Pipe Replacement

One of the most common calls we get from homeowners and property managers is for what’s known as a re-pipe project. Re-pipe projects are aimed at updating all of the pipes a structure uses. This is more than a code requirement, it’s a health and safety issue. Pipes don’t always age well.

Re-piping an entire home is a big job. R&R Plumbing is here to help you assess the situation and discuss your available options. We’ll work with you to develop a plan that matches your property’s needs and your budget.

When To Repipe/Replace Lines

new construction plumbing services

Older Home – If your house is over 50 years old and uses galvanized steel pipes. Or if your plumbing system is a network of different materials and is using non-standard routing methods.

Leaks – If you’re dealing with frequent leaks from multiple locations. As water pipes age the materials used to weld the joints can start to fail. Replacing the water supply lines now could save you money on future repair costs.

Low Water Pressure – If the water pressure is continually dropping and is accompanied by reddish-brown water coming out of the tap. Sometimes the water may only be brown initially and then turn clear. This is a sign that the old pipes have accumulated minerals on the interior and reduced water flow.

Slab or Pinhole Leaks – Pipes inside your foundation can leak and cause parts of your home to appear damp or wet. This typically occurs in older homes when the pipes in the foundation corrode and start to fail. They may not be noticeable at first but over time they can cause some serious damage.

Water Bill Going Up – If your water bill is going up without a good reason it may be your pipes. If you turn off the water to home and the meter continues to run, then you’ve got a leak in your water system that needs repair right away.
